When agent Courtney Whitaker from Golden Gate Sotheby's International Realty came to us with this beautiful, private home located on a cul de sac in Corte Madera, we were very excited about all of the remodeling potential that it had to offer. This property had not been listed in 62 years and was definitely due for a few upgrades in order to impress today’s buyers. Managed by project director Melissa Jones, this 3 bd, 2 ba home was transformed with many new modern features, while still honoring the history and uniqueness of the structure.

To get started, Melissa teamed up with local contractors to get started by repainting all of the walls, ceilings, and trim around the house. The hardwood flooring was refinished and all of the door handles and trim were replaced. The fireplace was painted to match the new, light coloring of the room and a new screen protector was added. All of the windows in the home were washed to help accentuate the natural light streaming in. In the heart of the home, the kitchen was upgraded with new quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. New cabinet doors and pulls were installed, as well as new tile flooring and new recessed lighting. Over in the bathrooms, new sink faucets and countertops were installed, and the tile flooring was fixed up. New mirrors and hardware were installed, and the toilet was replaced along with a fresh wax seal. Moving to the outside of the home, the front shutters were removed and the stucco, eaves, and trim were painted. The exterior brick and surrounding fencing were also repainted. In addition, the cabana structure in the backyard was removed and minor issues on the roof were repaired.

Once this project wrapped up, the home sold for $2,515,000, earning the owners a 361% return on their investment!

Freemodel’s scope of work for this project included:

- All rooms: fresh paint on walls, ceilings and trim, door handles and hinges replaced, light switches replaced, fireplace painted and screen added, new smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors installed, windows washed

- Kitchen: replaced countertops, under-mount sinks added, cabinet doors replaced and painted, tile flooring installed, new sink faucet, new cabinet pulls, new extraction fan, new refrigerator, new dishwasher, new stove top, new oven, new recessed lighting

- Bathrooms: new sink faucet, new mirrors, new hardware, toilet and wax ring reinstalled, new countertops, new tile flooring

- Exterior: new caulking where needed, front shutters removed, stucco, eaves and trim painted, siding and brick repainted, fencing repainted, entire home exterior power washed, cabana structure removed, roofing repaired, crawlspace cleaned
