La Mesa, otherwise known as “the Jewel of the Hills” is a beautiful city east of downtown San Diego. With sweeping views of the valley and a Mediterranean climate, this region is a great place to buy a home and settle into paradise. Century 21 Award agents Mark Kaletta and Deanne Stott teamed up with Project Director Karli Domingo to get this beautiful 4 bd, 2 ba home into tip-top shape before it hit the market. Conveniently located on a corner lot near a park and local shopping and dining hotspots, this property was sure to impress!

Teaming up with local contractors, Karli lead the team and begin the project by removing the popcorn ceiling and baseboards in each room, replacing those elements with a fresh coat of paint and new luxury vinyl flooring. Each room received new flush mount ceiling lights and modern details such as new doorknobs, hinges, and trim. The cabinets in the hallway were painted and the kitchen was reconfigured with new stainless steel appliances at every turn. Over in the bathrooms, the vanity cabinets were patched and replaced and new lights and mirrors were installed. The shower was finished off with a fresh white ceramic gloss and new hardware like towel bars and toilet paper loops were installed. To wrap things up on the outside of the house, the exterior stucco was power washed and repainted, and the pergola was freshly patched and painted.

Upon completion of this project, the home sold for $892,000, giving the owner a 235% return on their investment!

Freemodel’s scope of work for this project included:

- All rooms: remove popcorn ceiling, installed new luxury vinyl flooring and baseboards, painted all walls, ceilings, doors and trim, drywall painted and textured, hallway cabinets painted, new doorknobs and locks, new flush mount ceiling lights

- Bedrooms: new closet door systems

- Kitchen: new cabinet hardware, new range, new microwave with extractor fan, new refrigerator, and new dishwasher

- Bathrooms: patched and repaired vanity cabinet, replaced vanity light, installed new vanity mirror, installed new hardware, refinished ceramic white gloss in shower

- Exterior: power washed exterior and prepped stucco for paint, patched and painted trim at pergola
