Project Director: Joelle Belmonte
Agent: Harold DeBlander
Agent Harold DeBlander turned to Freemodel for help completely renovating this inherited home built in 1916. The owners had received some low-ball offers from flippers, but wanted to restore it in a way that would honor its history and the neighborhood. The kitchen was still original from 1916! Project director Joelle chose to go with a 1920s deco-inspired look where appropriate so the property would stand out and stay true to its roots.
The scope of work included:
- Entire home refreshed with new floors, interior and exterior paint, lighting throughout, hazardous material abatement, and new electrical system and plumbing.
- Fully remodeled and reconfigured kitchen, removing the wall between the dining room and kitchen for an open kitchen concept.
- All bathrooms upgraded
- Created primary bathroom by expanding the hall bathroom (which only had tub and sink) into the closet of the primary bedroom.
- Expanded hall toilet room into adjacent bedroom closet to create full bathroom.
- Added additional beam support so posts would not encroach on media for seamless look
- Living room fireplace refresh with new porcelain slab overlay
- Extensive painting prep for 100+ year old gum wood trim with oil-based shellac deeply penetrated into its pores
- Complete backyard refresh with new turf and urban farm
- Full exterior paint job and painted neighboring houses' exterior walls to create a visually appealing experience from the backyard.
