Agent Andrea Schlosser of Abio Properties teamed up with project director Lara Richmond to remodel this well-loved 2 bd, 2 ba condo in Oakland before it was shown to potential buyers. With an already spacious split floor plan, balcony, wood-burning fireplace and common roof deck, this space had all the makings of a perfect home after a few modern touch-ups.

Under Lara’s direction, the team got started by completely replacing the flooring with new luxury vinyl and lightened walls, ceilings, and trim with a neutralizing white coat of paint. Once these high-level aspects were updated, the team moved on to painting the front door and repairing the tiling around the fireplace to give it a sleek, inviting look. In the heart of the home, the kitchen underwent many upgrades, which included new cabinet doors and handles, new recessed lights, a new under-mount sink and faucet, a new garbage disposal, a new tile backsplash and lastly, a new vent hood over the stovetop. As you can see in the photos, these upgrades helped to brighten the space and created contrast with the dark lower cabinets. Moving on to the master bathroom, the team dug in and installed a new bathtub, a new fixed shower head, new wall tiling in the shower, a new toilet and vanity mirror. Then, over in the bedrooms, the sliding closet doors were swapped out for new mirrored ones and new recessed lights were installed. The bedrooms feature beautiful windows while let a lot of natural light in and complimented the fresh paint and mirrored accents in those rooms.

Once this project wrapped and was made available to prospective buyers, it sold for $900,000, providing the previous owners with a 203% return on their investment!
