Agent Brandon Watkins of KW Plano/Paris teamed up with Freemodel project director Alane Beard to refresh this home to make it appealing to the modern buyer. Once this project concluded, the home sold for $425,000.

Alane describes the project saying, “Since we didn’t have the budget to do major renovations like kitchen or primary bath, and needed to remove junk and make several repairs, I decided to prioritize drawing attention to the home’s assets like the beautiful pool, big corner lot and spacious interior. My objective was to lighten, brighten and focus buyers immediately from the front door to that fantastic, big backyard. I installed one flooring that ran throughout to emphasize the open feeling, and painted all the walls a warm neutral color. We removed dated, dark blinds that distracted from the view. We added curb appeal by removing overgrown shrubs & junk, trimming trees, leveling the walkway, and creating a new flower bed. Finally, we painted the front door for a dramatic focal point.

Freemodel’s scope of work for this project included:

- All rooms: all walls, ceilings, and trim painted, removed existing flooring, carpet, and tile, installed new luxury vinyl flooring

- Stairs: removed carpet, prepped landings, re-attached stair rail

- Bedrooms: installed new carpet and padding

- Master bath: replaced toilet

- Upstairs hall bathroom: replaced tile in shower

- Exterior: replaced dry rot front porch columns and front fascia, power wash porch, removed shutters

- Landscaping: cleaned beds, removed overgrown shrubs and weeds, trimmed trees and shrubs, added new soil, plants, and flowers.
